SUZHOU, CHINA — Earlier this week, a young child in China fell out of the trunk of his grandfather's van as it was driving down a busy road. CCTV released video of the dramatic incident, which was captured on the dashcam of a vehicle directly behind the grandfather's van.
On Feb. 27, the boy and his grandfather were driving through the city of Suhzou, Jiangsu province of China. The boy, possibly bored, somehow got the fun idea to try to climb over the backseat of grandpa's van. He was able to maneuver his way up and over the back seat, landing himself in the trunk.
Unfortunately, the toddler was unaware that the boot door was damaged in a previous collision and was known to occasionally fly open from time to time. When it did, the child fell out and tumbled down the road.
Miraculously, the child didn't appear to be injured in the fall, only confused as to why his grandfather hadn't stopped the car to rescue him. The boy's grandfather apparently had no idea that the back hatch had opened up and the child had fallen out. He just kept on driving until others who saw what had happened managed to flag him down.
The boy, who looks to be about 2, was picked up and taken to safety by a good samaritan by the name of Jiang. Jiang then handed the frightened kid over to his grandpa, who also appeared to be a little unnerved by the whole situation.
