The Simpsons: Barts Nightmare (SNES) Blue Door

For the Purple Door (next in this longplay), check here: Whenever people think of good Simpsons games, they usually think about the Arcade game and maybe some later titles on recent consoles (not great, but playable and somewhat good). Whenever people think of bad Simpsons games, they have plenty to choose from, but most will pick those on the NES. Even if Id ask someone to think about a Simpsons game on the SNES alone, that person would probably pick The Simpsons: Virtual Bart. Nobody really seems to remember Barts Nightmare, a game released for the SNES and the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. I do, because it was one of the first games I owned for the SNES and while it was not my favorite, I liked it when I finally managed to beat it (its really hard). The blue door is not the 1st level of the game, as the levels appear at random by finding a sheet of paper (that also appears at random intervals) on the streets (once you get a page in a specific door, you get to a 2nd part where you can get another page. If you fail that part, the next time you would find the same door color, you would automatically get to that 2nd part. The Yellow door features 2 part, but once you finish the 1st one, the game doesnt give you the opportunity of going to the 2nd part without finding another paper. The Blue and Purple Doors are 1 part only.) The streets part is the only part of the game that will give you a game over if you die, dying in the levels will put you back on the streets with some damage. The reality is that it isnt good by any means. It tries to change gameplay between each level, represented by doors. Here we have a shmup level which is not the worst of the bunch since you can manage to control Bart, but most other levels feature slippery controls that are also too sensitive and good luck figuring out how to play the Godzilla rip-off level. In conclusion, it is a short game with bad controls that give us the illusion of featuring a variety of concepts, even if theyre all poorly executed. Like all games, even if theyre not good, you can like it just like I did (I blame nostalgia). Since I dont want to spend the rest of my life playing this game perfectly and I dont want to post videos where I die since it would be pointless for you to watch, I use an emulator to make a save state between each part, but no cheats of any kind. Dont forget, if you have requests like for another video game I should consider for a similar treatment as this one, just ask here or on my channel or even by sending me a personal message and if I can make it, there are good chances that I will. eventually! You can always see the current list of games already requested so as to avoid doing the same request twice (dont worry if you do) or to see why it might take some time for me to complete your request: Note that the list is in no strict order, especially since most of these were simple suggestions made with no sense of urgency. So dont be intimidated by the list, dont be shy to ask me to do a game like this, even though you might see a lot of games already on the list.
