The Simpsons: Hit and Run for PC allows for many other characters than the standard 5 to be played, and it takes very little modding skill to do so.\r
Here are the instructions:\r
1. Open My Computer and navigate to the C: Drive, then to Program Files (x86), then Vivendi Universal Games, The Simpsons Hit & Run, then to art and finally chars. This will give you a list of characters that were made in the game. Keep this to one side.\r

2. Run Notepad as Administrator, then navigate to The Simpsons Hit & Run again but this time go to scripts then missions. Use the drop down arrow at the bottom right and check All files rather than text files. \r

3. Open the rewards file in Notepad.\r
\r
4. On level 1, you will see 2 paragraphs of code. The 2nd one should start with this line: BindReward( homer, artcharshomer_m.p3d, skin, defaultskin, 1 );\r

5. In the lines underneath, delete the name of the outfit (such as h_undrwr) and replace it with one of the names in the char list. For example, if you want Cletus, replace h_undrwr with cletus.\r
\r
6. After you have done that, go further to the right and delete h_undrwr_m.p3d and replace it with cletus_m.p3d. This name should always include _m.p3d at the end of the characters name.\r
\r
7. Replace 150 with 0 to make the character free.\r
\r
8. Do this for the other outfits, but do not do it with Homers standard character, as the other characters cannot complete missions. \r
\r
9. Save this file, and open Hit & Run. Then, simply go to the Kwik-E-Mart and use the outfit change to switch to your new character. Enjoy!\r
