The city of Cortona granted honorary citizenship to Barrett Wissman. The Tuscan American Association chose its founders, Barrett Wissman and Nina Kotova, as recipients of their annual award recognizing those who do extraordinary work promoting cultural and economic exchange between the US and Italy.
