KALAMAZOO, MICHIGAN — Uber driver Jason Dalton visited a stop gun shop hours before he went on a shooting spree that left six people dead in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Stills from the store's surveillance footage show the Uber driver casually strolling into Southwick's gun shop, located 20 miles north of Kalamazoo, at 3 p.m. on Saturday. He did not buy a gun or ammunition. Instead, he bought a black jacket with pockets to conceal a handgun.
"He was very normal when he came in," Jonathan Southwick, owner of the Southwick's gun shop, told Mlive. "I greeted him and asked how he was doing. I hadn't seen him a while. He said he was doing good and he was enjoying the weather."
Dalton started driving for Uber in January and had a "favorable" rating of 4.73 out of 5 from customers. He allegedly continued to take fares even after he began the massacre.
