HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT — A Connecticut judge ordered 50 Cent to court on Thursday after the rapper, who filed for bankruptcy last July, posted photos and videos showing off stacks of cash to social media.
The posts, which the 40-year-old rapper made to Instagram, stand in clear contrast with the kind of money one would expect a bankrupt person to have.
One of the most memorable photos shows the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, lying on the ground next to stacks of what appear to be $100 bills organized to spell "broke".
"I'm concerned about allegations of nondisclosure or a lack of transparency in the case," Judge Ann M. Nevins told 50's lawyer, according to CNNMoney, and ordered the rapper to show up to court to answer a few questions.
50 Cent's bankruptcy claim was prompted by the reported $29 million he owes an ex-girlfriend, a bank and a headphone maker, according to a WTVR report.
