Due to the introduction of a less than traditional one, last week, a 12-year-old otter living at the Calgary Zoo died.
According to a statement released by the zoo on Wednesday, "a pair of pants – was given to the otters by a zookeeper. A necropsy revealed that the otter drowned after becoming tangled in the pants."
It is not clear how the garment was introduced to the animal's environment.
