The SAG Awards kicked off on a real high note tonight, so let’s keep the ball rolling and break down the winners of the Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a movie category right here, right now.
We’re back at Clevver’s 2016 award show coverage, and tonight, whether you were a supporting or lead actor, it really made no difference because, let’s face it: Alicia Vikander and Idris Elba stole the show.

A major congratulations are in order for Alicia Vikander who took home her very first SAG Award for best supporting actress in a movie for her role as Gerda Wegener, the supportive wife of her transgender spouse Lili Elbe in The Danish Girl.

A teary-eyed Alicia graced the stage, and began her acceptance speech by taking a moment to recall being captivated by watching her mother, who was also an actress, rehearse for her own roles and make her characters come to life. But of course she also thanked her own support system, including her fellow actors and peers, including the cast and crew, including Eddie Redmayne, saying that without them, all of this would not be possible. Take a look:
And finally, Alicia ended by saying that she was not only privileged to be a part of the film process, but the entire transgender movement and cultural change.
