Cold wave disrupts life in North India

Shimla/ Uttarakhand, Feb 15 (ANI): People in Shimla and upper reaches of Uttarakhand on Monday struggled to carry out their daily activities after temperatures plummeted due to a fresh spell of snowfall in the region. People lit bonfires and wore layers of clothes to keep themselves warm. The minimum temperature recorded in Shimla, which has been receiving snowfall since Saturday, was 3° Celsius and would further dip at night. Shimla is experiencing severe cold conditions throughout the day and night. It has become very difficult to work. We have to keep sitting next to bonfires to keep ourselves warm.
In Uttarakhand, Border Roads Organisation (BRO) personnel were seen clearing the snow from the roads using bulldozers in Gangotri region.
