Ive been playing the crap out of Banjo-Kazooie recently, so I decided to record a video of the final battle against Gruntilda. This footage was recorded with an actual N64 and Banjo-Kazooie cartridge, using my Dazzle capture card. Being the main villain of the game, Gruntilda provides an excellent boss fight, and it is very satisfying to beat her after everything she puts you through during the game. The battle consists of five phases, and each one will put Banjo and Kazooies skills to the test. Each phase ends when youve hit Gruntilda four times. \r
\r
The first phase involves Gruntilda swooping down at you with her broomstick; after a while, shell stall out and you can hit her. Not too hard. The second phase will have her launching missiles at you, and you have to shoot her with eggs when theres a lull in her barrage. This section always gives me trouble and is my least favorite. Phase three calls for you to use a flight pad and engage Gruntilda in a dogfight. You have to line her up and then nail her with a Beak Bomb; it takes me a few tries to successfully hit her. \r
\r
In the fourth phase, you have to shoot eggs into Jinjo statues in order for the Jinjos to launch themselves at Gruntilda like missiles. In the final phase, you have to activate the Jinjonator, a giant Jinjo that requires you to shoot eggs into four ports at the base of the statue. The fourth and fifth phases are the hardest phases of the battle, at least as far as taking damage is concerned. Once the Jinjonator has been activated, it will deliver the final hit and Gruntilda will fall to her doom, resulting in victory for Banjo and Kazooie. \r
