SAN FRANCISCO — A man suspected of robbing several banks in Northern California was arrested in Clearlake Oaks after a high speed chase with authorities on Sunday.

According to Lake County Sheriff's Department, deputies arrived at a home in Glenhaven on Sunday morning. After seeing the suspect leaving the area in his car and heading westbound on Highway 20, they began pursuit.

The suspect then briefly pulled into a parking lot of a business and fled away, again followed by police. Meanwhile, another deputy had taken position at Lakeview Drive and Highway 20 and deployed a spike strip on the road which the suspect sped over.

Police alleged the man said he'd "shoot it out" if he officers ever tried to arrest him. However, after his car's tires were deflated and deputies caught up to him, he threw his gun away and quickly surrendered.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Krohn was taken to Lake County Hill Road Correctional Facility, where he was booked on a federal no-bail warrant and numerous charges.
