Trevor Noah doesn't think there's anything "classy" about the NFL.
Last week, the South African comedian spent a segment of his Comedy Central show criticizing the media's racial double standard when describing Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning.
"In the quarterback matchup between Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos and Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers, the differences are literally black and white," the video description reads.
Noah pointed to several examples, including how Manning gets praised for studying on the sidelines where as Newton gets called out for his end zone celebrations.
The reality, Noah said, is that "Peyton Manning is sitting on the bench every chance he gets is because he’s the oldest quarterback to ever start a Super Bowl.”
“This is about race," Noah said.
"And you know what I love about all the race conversations in society?
People always say it’s not about race."
