Turkey’s foreign minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, says an open door policy on the Turkey-Syria border must be maintained for those fleeing the Assad regime and Russian airstrikes. Speaking in Amsterdam on Saturday, where EU foreign ministers were meeting to discuss the crisis, Çavuşoğlu says Turkey has already received 5,000 refugees and is expecting another 50-55,000.
