New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): A silent march was carried out by various farmer unions against genetically modified mustard seeds. The Genetic Engineering Appraisal Committee (GEAC) is slated to take a decision on the basis of results of scientific field trials of GM mustard. Though the GM mustard has already gone through two levels of safety tests, the results of these tests are still under the wraps. The protestors said they would continue their agitation until the Central Government comes out with a proper decision. The central regulator may take a final call today whether to allow genetically engineered mustard for commercial cultivation in India.
