A “large and destructive” tornado touched down in Pickens County, Alabama, near the town of Aliceville, on Tuesday, February 2, damaging homes and businesses and knocking out power. No deaths or major injuries were reported, but many in the area were affected by the twister. The Federal Correctional Institution in Aliceville was hit by the tornado, but prison officials said inmates and staff were safe.
