Chennai, Feb 2 (ANI): LGBT (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) community members on Tuesday welcomed the Supreme Court's order that referred the curative plea against Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) to a five-judge constitutional bench. The LGBT group members celebrated the verdict by dancing and singing. Section 377 of the IPC criminalises sexual activities 'against the order of nature', including homosexual activities. In 2013, the apex court had reversed 2009 verdict of the Delhi High Court that decriminalised consensual homosexual activities done in private.
