Dimapur, Feb 02 (ANI): Dimapur residents protested against the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) authorities, demanding shifting of garbage dumping site. Nagaland Municipal Affairs Secretary Moangwati Aier said it was delayed by so far, but now the government has taken cognizance of the matter. He added that the dumping site would be shifted at the earliest. Parliamentary secretary Tohanba also came down from Kohima to see the plight of the residents and described it as a failure of the authorities. The residents blocked all garbage-laden vehicles of the municipal council for more than six hours, which compelled the authorities and other senior government officials to visit the area to assess the situation.
