Nepal, Feb 01 (ANI) : Brimming with hope, the Nepali women's hockey team is practicing at the Hockey Astro Turf in Imphal for the first time ahead of the South Asian games to be held in Guwahati. The team comprising 18 players along with three official staffs, including two coaches and a team Manager arrived at Imphal to get an exposure of the only Hockey Astro Turf at the stadium. The Nepali players, who started their training since four months ago on a natural grass field hockey ground, have hitherto never participated at an international tournament on an Astro Turf field. They were joined by Manipuri women's hockey players. The Nepali players will be trained by the coach of Manipuri team during their stay. Bimla Bhatt, one of the Nepali women's hockey team members, said it was a great to play and practice hockey in India. The Nepali women's hockey team, which started its training four months ago at a natural grass field ground in their country, for the first time is participating in an international tournament on an Astro Turf ground. The 12th South Asian Games will be held from 07 to 14 February 2016 at Guwahati and Shillong.
