Credeasi Misera from Act İ of Vincenzo Bellinis I Puritani. The recording was made in 1968.
We hear F above high C--the composer had put it in the score. Bellini was working with fantastic singers.
I love Enrico Caruso records, but Caruso never attempted (on recordings, anyway) this switch from head voice to falsetto. I think it is lovely.
It is F, not F sharp as I once thought.
