Prison inmates from the Eastern New York Correctional Facility defeated Harvard’s Bard Prison Initiative debate team. Unlike Harvard, prisoners have no internet access to help them prepare for the debate and must have requests for books and articles approved for research weeks in advance. The inmate debate team has also beaten the US Military Academy at West Point team as well as a nationally ranked team from the University of Vermont.
