Ekaterina has been on the donor kidney waiting list for 2.5 years. Her kidneys have been getting progressively worse since she was 15. For the past six years she has been on dialysis, which caused new health problems. Finally, the time for her operation has come. However, her kidney donor had renal artery abnormality, which may cause complications during and after surgery.
Luckily, Ekaterina is in the hands of some of the most experienced Russian surgeons from the famous Sklifosovsky Institute. She is highly optimistic about her long-awaited operation and looking forward to restoring her health. Her goal is to be well enough to start a family of her own.
