A heavy lifting rocket the Ariane 5 has launched this evening from Kourou in French Guiana carrying the Intelsat 29e satellite into orbit, Liftoff occurred at 23:20 UTC, January 27th 2016.
This was Arianespace's first launch of 2016, hoping for a total of 11. Intelsat 29e weighs 6,552kg and will be positioned at 310 degrees East providing C, Ku and Ka-band services for North and South America as well as the North Atlantic.
