Nepal, Jan 27 (ANI): Even after months of agitation and protests, there seems to be no concrete solution to the Madhesi unrest. Due to prolonged agitation, people in Terai and Madhesh region have been facing inconvenience and a fuel crisis. Keeping this in mind, United Madhesi Front initiated the move to open the market areas in the Birgunj area for the convenience of the people. Ethnic Madhesi leaders on Saturday, January 23, rejected the first amendment of Nepal's constitution which was voted upon by the Himalayan nation's parliament after months of protest by their community. The agitating Madhesi community is demanding demarcation of provinces, fixing of electoral constituencies on the basis of population and proportional representation, and the protests - that still continue to be hold since the new constitution was adopted in September - have claimed at least 55 lives so far.
