Why take a learner permit course?
This course will help you acquire practical and Roadcraft skills for riding through
the streets of Victoria.
To earn your motorcycle learner permit, you must
Be at least 18 years old;
Pass the knowledge test of Victorian Rider Handbook;
Pass the VicRoads knowledge test of Victorian Traffic Handbook; and
Pass the VicRoads Motorcycle Learner Permit Riding Test
The rider must also pass 4 exercises:
Operation of Controls
Left Turn and Normal Stop
Slow Ride
Right Turn and Quick Stop

To get your motorcycle licence, you must
Have a motorcycle learning permit
Pass the VicRoads Motorcycle Licence Skill Test.
