The Jeep Renegade attempts to bring some of Jeep's trademark no-nonsense ruggedness to the growing compact SUV class. The list of alternatives in this sector of the market is long, and includes the Skoda Yeti, Suzuki Vitara and Citroen C4 Cactus. The Nissan Juke, Renault Captur and Mazda CX-3 are better to drive and arguably better to look at too.
