Beep song not mine says Anirudh - after case against him Simbu
STR and Anirudh have been receiving severe backlash for their Beep Song that has a generous dose of objectionable lyrics. Some of the womens organisations have even gone to the extent of filing police complaint against the duo.
Anirudh, who is in Canada for his live-in-concert, has now responded saying that he has absolutely no connection. In an official statement sent to the press, he stated, I am currently in Canada for my concert (dedicated to the flood victims of Chennai)and was busy focusing on the rehearsals and the concert. I was distressed to read today about the controversy surrounding the so called beep song. I would like to clarify my stand on the subject.
It is neither my composition nor my lyrics and I am not the singer. I wish to state my innocence in this matter categorically. Unfortunately and to my dismay my name has been unnecessarily dragged into this controversy even though I am not in any way connected. I wish to reiterate I have the greatest regard and respect for women putting to rest all speculations on this subject.

இது குறித்து தனது ட்விட்டர் பக்கத்தில் எழுதியுள்ள அனிருத், இசை நிகழ்ச்சிக்காக வெளிநாட்டிற்கு சென்றிருப்பதாகவும், சென்னையில் ஏற்பட்ட வெள்ளத்தில் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்காக இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியை நடத்தியதாகவும் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
மேலும், சர்ச்சைக்குரிய பாடலில் தான் இசையமைக்கவோ, பாடல் எழுதவோ, பாடவோ இல்லை என்று தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
