SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA — Two women were killed and several others seriously injured after an Oakland bound bus crashed early Tuesday morning.
The Greyhound bus was carrying 21 people including the driver en route from L.A. to Oakland on the 101 Freeway when the accident occurred in San Jose.
The bus then struck a number of weighted barrels before mounting a concrete median and flipping onto its side, Reuters reported.
Two female passengers were killed after being ejected from the vehicle during the crash, while five others suffered life threatening injuries, KTLA reported, citing a fire official.
According to Reuters, one passenger told the San Francisco Chronicle that the driver had fallen asleep. The cause of the crash in under investigation.
