JEZAHEL - Shirley Bassey (1972 Recording)

2016-01-16 74

1972 (Shirley Bassey ROCKs the house with 'Jezehel' which she recorded and released on her 1972 LP titled, 'Shirley Bassey - And I Love You So'). The incomparable Shirley Bassey, as always, places her unique stamp on this great upbeat rock/pop track with her powerful high octave vocals!

This song was orginally part of a two song clip, but I had to seperate them as the other song had copyright retrictions on it (I'd Do It All Again), which was preventing a world wide audience from viewing this song. At least this song can be viewed around the world, at least for now.

ABOUT - And I Love You So LP:
Released late in 1972 to positive reviews, this was Bassey's fourth album of the decade and was one of the albums which comprised her 'comeback' period of the 1970s. Unlike the earlier albums, this didn't feature any hit singles and consequently didn't fare as well as the previous three. It made No.24, and remained on the chart for 9 weeks, reaching its peak on Christmas week, resulting in higher than average sales.

LYRICS - Jezahel:
Come tomorrow way down south In St. Amore
oh oh oh
Reunited with my love In St. Amore
oh oh oh

Jezahel jezahel
Jezahel jezahel

Will we both go home so we can be together
oh oh oh
Really both go home to stay in love forever
oh oh oh

Jezahel jezahel
Jezahel jezahel

Scorching sun upon a beach near a cantina
Out of reach where there's no one to come between us
oh oh oh

Jezahel jezahel
Jezahel jezahel

Yes I scan your eyes I scan your eyes I see desire
oh oh oh
Wind and rain can't stop the flame that starts the fire
oh oh oh

Jezahel jezahel
Jezahel jezahel
Jezahel jezahel
