Is this a prison - or a slum? Plus, debunking viral images

A weekly news show produced with photos, videos and personal accounts from France 24 Observers around the world - all checked by our staff here in Paris.

Story 1: Gabon
One of our Observers took photos inside the main prison in Libreville, the capital of Gabon in Central Africa. He did not want to tell us about it himself because he was afraid he’d face retribution. But we have another Observer in Gabon who has also spent time in the prison. He says it’s like a slum.
Story 2: Debunked
Now for our regular "Debunking" feature…We take a look at some of the most incendiary images making the rounds online, and check to see that they really are what they say they are. Watch out, because Web users have a habit of recycling old pictures – and using them for their own agenda.
