After the murder of Officer Melvin Santiago over the weekend, it seems the tension between the Jersey City police department and people in the community is escalating.
Monday night Jersey City police shot a man after he allegedly threw an object at a patrol car. Three officers were injured during this incident, but they are all said to be in stable medical condition.
Jersey City resident Tyreek Braxton discussed what is being talked about on the streets.
Theyre saying that someone threw something at that vehicle and I dont believe that anyone threw anything at the vehicle because there is a big thing of retaliation going on in Jersey City. The police killed a young man two weeks ago on Grant Avenue and the young people are supposed to be retaliating with the police and the police are retaliating with the young people, he said.
