Back to HD but at 23.98 fps. Seems to work smoothly last time. The key is to maintain consistent fps. This gives me more fps in realtime gameplay while keeping recorded file size reasonably low.
Detected a bit of stuttering while playing. After checking my hdd, realized that both internal and external HDDs were fragmented. Had also forgotten to disable non-essential Windows services while playing so all those factors plus the fact that i re-installed the driver for the external monitor prior to racing in GRID may have contributed to a recurring problem with stutter.
Should be fine in the next race as long as not too many changes to the file system is made prior to firing-up GRID. Might be worth noting that while the processing of this video was paused 'coz the GPU & CPU were too hot, i noticed that the CPU usage did not drop to 0% is usual. After checking the task scheduler, i noticed that many tasks are enabled and run recently so i disabled most of them. Not sure what they do or what i was doing or whether they are critical for normal functionig of the OS. Anyway, should be able to tell on next reboot.
