Three of around 100 women who reported being robbed, threatened or sexually assaulted at New Year’s Eve celebrations in Cologne, Germany, recount their ordeal. According to witnesses, the males, between 15 and 35 years old, tightly surrounded women in groups of 30 or 40, before groping them and mugging them and their partners. Two-thirds of all the complaints made to police about the night in question are linked to sexual assault, including two rapes.
