Leaked Training Videos Give Rare Look Inside Secret ISIS Weapons Lab

ISIS has a secret weapons facility in its self-declared capital of Raqqa, Syria, according to a new Sky News report.

ISIS training videos that were never meant to be seen by the public reveal that the terror group is employing scientists and weapons experts to train jihadists to carry out sophisticated, "spectacular" attacks abroad.

They are also working on remote-controlled car bombs and modifying weapons systems capable of targeting passenger jets and military aircraft.

"This is effectively a jihadi technical college," Sky News' Stuart Ramsay reported. "And they're employing some of the finest technical minds they can get to achieve their goals."

He said that one of the most shocking things in the videos is that these ISIS scientists are producing homemade thermal batteries for surface-to-air missiles.

Major Chris Hunter, a former bomb technician in the special forces and adviser to the British military, told Ramsay that he was surprised to see just how clever the training videos are.

"With this training footage, it's very clearly purely designed to pass on information - [to] pass on the progress in the research and development areas," Hunter said. "And it gives us a very good insight into where they are now, what they're aspiring to do and, crucially, the diversity of the types of threats we might face."

"So I would say it's an intelligence gold mine."
