In Sanskrit Viparita means inverted or inversed and Karani means to do. Mudra means sign so Viparitakarani Mudra means a sign, which signifies the importance of yoga in maintaining good health.
Technique :
Find out the position and the size of the support you would use for this asana.
Sit down around five to six inches from the support you are going to use.
now keep a pillow near your waist as support when you perform the asana and go backwards.
Inhale deeply and then exhale and lift your body slightly towards the pillow and swing the legs up for support.
let the front portion of the body encircle around you as you tilt behind and lie down.
The pillow should help you to support the waist region.
As you do the pose, you should feel the manner in which the stretch is felt from shoulders to the pubic region.
The legs should be straight and now release the base of your head and take it away
Now tilt your head below and take care that the chin does not touch the sternum.
Let the shoulder blades be free and rotate your arms at the sides with the palms facing upwards.
Now release the body weight and keep the legs straight and hold this pose for fifteen minutes.
Caution :
Do not do it during menstruation, or with problems like glaucoma .
if there is any kind of tingling, sensation while performing then stop the yoga pose.
