Singer Chris Brown is being investigated for misdemeanor battery and theft at a Las Vegas hotel room in an alleged incident that occurred after a woman tried to take his photo, police said Saturday.
Brown, 26, has not been arrested but is considered a suspect, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a news release.
Police received a report of battery in a suite at Palms Casino Resort at about 10:20 a.m., police said.
When they arrived at the hotel, they found a woman who seemed to have minor injuries "as a result of battery," the statement said.
The woman had attempted to take a picture of Brown during a party at the hotel, but "was alleged to have been battered by Brown, who at the same time took her cell phone."
The R&B singer was released from felony probation last year, more than six years after he attacked then-girlfriend Rihanna.
The singer pleaded guilty to felony assault in the 2009 case.
