A rare giant squid, which normally lives in the depths of the ocean, has revealed itself to onlookers in Japan after surfacing in a harbour.
The 3.7m long creature is thought to only be a juvenile and will give researchers valuable insight into one of the sea's most mysterious inhabitants.
