Rescuers make contact with eight Chinese miners on Wednesday, who have been trapped underground since Christmas Day. The collapse of a gypsum mine in Shandong province killed at least one worker and nine others remain missing. Infrared cameras detected the surviving miners and plans are being drawn up to pull them to safety.
