Mass grassroots movements in Guatemala and Honduras against high-level corruption erupted in April and May 2015, respectively. In Guatemala, the protests were strong enough to force the ouster of president Otto Perez Molina, but despite mass sentiment, Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez remains in office.
