Highway 37 East may pass through San Francisco’s scenic Bay area, but it’s not where a driver would expect to encounter an elephant seal. When Rasa saw the mammal stretched across the road, she knew she had to help. She stopped some distance away and took care to discourage passers-by from disturbing the giant wild animal.
