AMSTERDAM — It's a very Merry Christmas indeed for Dutch driving instructors, who can now legally exchange lessons for a romp in the sack.
The Netherlands has given a whole new meaning to the term "going Dutch" after two ministers confirmed that while undesirable, sex as payment for driving lessons is perfectly legal, reports the Telegraph.
So long as the driving lesson is the one being paid for, both parties are at least 18, and the public is not being endangered, it's a go.
But apparently it is considered illegal if the transaction goes the other way around, with lessons as payment for sex.
Online searches for "ride for a ride" have increased as more people seem to want to learn to drive in more ways than one.
While prostitution is legal in the Netherlands, there is not much information on bartering for sex. Rotterdam police have investigated the occurrence, but the results have not been published, according to CNN.
