Star Wars: The Force Awakens grows more powerful as its opening weekend continues to blast through box office records.
Walt Disney Studios and Rentrak tracking service now estimate that Friday's opening day numbers will reach the $120 - $125 million range.
Studio estimates previously had this number at $100 million - already a record for an opening day - beating Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 in 2011 which made $91.1 million.
This updated $120 - $125 million number includes a $57 million total for Thursday "preview" shows, which is also a record for Thursday previews.
New studio estimates and Rentrak further estimate that the J.J. Abrams-directed Force Awakens will destroy the weekend box office record with at least a $225 million weekend total.
