The UN has come in for stern criticism from a panel looking into how the organisation dealt with allegations of sexual abuse by French and African peacekeepers in Central African Republic. Also, the UN's human rights chief has accused Burundi authorities of dragging the country towards full blown civil war as the body agrees to send in investigators to probe alleged abuses. The country is still in political turmoil after President Pierre Nkurunziza announced he intended to run for a third term.
