FRANCE — The "Egg Smash Dare" from France is a new video that its creators are really hoping will go viral.
The creators of the challenge want those opposed to ISIS to smash a perfectly good egg on their head while saying, "Refuse extremism! Choose life!" Oh yeah, and they need to film it too.
The French cousin of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge also wants you to nominate two friends to crack some eggs on their domes.
And what would a social media movement be without some hashtags. We give you #EggSmashDare and #ChallengeExtremism.
The movement was created in response to the deadly Paris attacks on November 13. The egg is meant to symbolize life and peace, while your hand is meant to be the destructive force of ISIS. Smashing the egg on your face is supposed to show the destructive force of the Islamic State as well as showing the pain you feel.
The makers of the video hope that young people in France and across the world will be egged on to start the new trend. We'll have to see how things hatch out.
