Vatican Christmas Tree 2015 at Saint Peter’s Square preparations
This year the German region of Bavaria donated the 32 meters’ tall tree.
It is not the tallest ever Saint Peter’s Square Christmas Tree.
It arrived earlier than usual, on November 18th, in order to be ready before December 8th.
This date marks the beginning of the Jubilee Year of Mercy.
The decorations include painted ceramic ornaments made by children receiving oncological care in a number of Italian hospitals.
The tree will be officially lit up on December 18th.
