Despite only being six weeks into the 2010 season, the story lines are already becoming apparent. Even in the LFL you must pay your dues as a franchise to compete, especially against the league's elite teams which currently include Los Angeles, San Diego, Chicago, Philadelphia and Tampa.
Tonight, Tampa took another step toward making the case of being in a class by itself with a convincing 33-0 win over Baltimore. The blueprint has been simple for Tampa, establish a running game with Tiffani Powers who is fast becoming a Top 3 back in the league while playing championship caliber defense. Ironically, on this night the Breeze looked a lot like the 2000 World Champion Baltimore Ravens who relied heavily on the run and their defense, the offense just had to manage the game and avoid losing it. However, before Tampa fans start running to Hotels.com to book their Las Vegas plans for February, quick note, the two dominating wins in which Tampa has outscored its opponents 80-6 have come against expansion franchises.
