Dec. 1 -- Pete Wagner wrote a block of code that translates a skier’s height, weight, skill level, and preferred terrain into the right specifications for a pair of custom planks. The code forms the “recipe” for each new pair of Wagner Skis his company builds in a former gas station in Placerville, Colo., a few miles outside Telluride.
