The Salvation Army has announced that a couple who wishes to remain anonymous slipped a record-high $500,000 check into one of its red donation kettles in Minnesota.

The annual Salvation Army holiday fundraising campaign has resulted in a big surprise.
The organization announced that, this past Saturday, it received a $500,000 check in one of its red kettles in Minnesota.
This amount sets a new record for the largest single donation made to a Twin Cities Salvation Army kettle.
And it far exceeds the previous record of $25,000.
