Visiting Canadian wilderness in October 2015.
First by hiking on my own in black bear area near Campbell River, northern Vancouver Island. Then, for a few days, I joined very experienced local guides with small boats to grizzly area in Toba Inlet (mainland BC) and enjoyed seeing killer whales and steller sea lions on the way. Third, I took the train from Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Churchill: 1,700 km in 45 hours through mainly boreal forest, before arrival in the northern tundra. In Churchill, I visited polar bear areas near barren Wapusk N.P. The only safe & possible way is by a huge 'tundrabuggy' including polar bear-proof glass. I also joined local guides to spot silver fox, cross fox and bearded seal.
Finally, after a few weeks of astonishing, quiet natural beauty, I left the wilderness and returned back to the crowds and visited Niagara Falls with the Indian Summer sun: awesome!
