Simmering racial tensions boiled over yet again when several men shot five people here who had been protesting the recent police killing of an African American man in Minneapolis.
The previous night, police said five people suffered non-life-threatening gunshot injuries when shooters opened fire in the crowd.
Police arrested a 23-year-old white man and are searching for two other while male suspects.
All three suspects fled the scene.
The victims — all black men between 19 and 43 — suffered non-life-threatening wounds in the 10:45 p.m. shooting, police spokesman John Elder told the Star Tribune.
The protesters have congregated about a block from the 4th Precinct since the fatal police shooting of 24-year-old Jamar Clark on Nov. 15.
