Një dite pasi takoi kreun e partisë Socialiste Edi Rama, ambasadori i Komisionit Europian ne Tirane, Etore Sekui është ndalur ne zyrën e kreut te LSI, Ilir Meta. Pas bisedës, ne një deklarate per mediat, zoti Sekui nënvizoi faktin se gjithëperfshirja është shume e rëndësishme ne përmbushjen e reformave te integrimit. Vetëm kështu, sipas tij, do te afrohet marrja e statusit te vendit kandidat. "Të ecet përpara në mënyrë të suksesshme në rrugën drejt BE-së. Pas zgjedhjeve ne kemi besim se do të ketë një tranzicion të mirë drejt pushtetit, që të përqendrohet puna të axhenda e reformave të nevojshme për Shqipërinë. Mbeta i kënaqur nga përdorimi i një fjalë, gjithëpërfshirje që është kyçe, sepse procesi i integrimit është proces që përfshin të gjithë vendin. Të gjitha mundësitë janë për vendin që të merret statusi i vendit kandidat, ne kemi besim që kjo do të jetë e mundur edhe në sajë të këtij angazhimi të ri." Edhe kreu i LSI tha se mazhoranca e majte do te krijoje një klime te re bashkëpunimi me opozitën. Përmbushja e reformave dhe fryma e bashkëpunimit sipas deklaratave publike te ambasadorit sekui, por edhe te eurokomisionerit Stefan Fyle, mund te sjellin marrjen e statusit kandidat ne dhjetor ndërsa vitin tjetër, edhe hapjen e negociatave për anëtarësim.
